Minutes for meeting held on Jan. 14, 2012

Meeting called to Order at 1:06 P.M.

The first order of business was the introduction of members.

Minutes of the Nov. 12th. meeting was read. Jacque Schmidt made a motion to approve the minutes as read. Motion was seconded by Nick Kerpchar and the motion passed.

Jacque Schmidt read a card from Past Vice President Peggy Hembree and a card from Life time members Dan and Barbara Palmer. Deb Palmer read a thank you card from Lew Diehl from the Heritage Museum thanking us for the donations we gave them last year.

Deb Palmer gave the Treasurers report. Nick Kerpchar made a motion to accept the Treasurers report as read. Les Armstrong seconded the motion. The motion was passed.

Nick Kerpchar gave his Membership Coordinators report. We have a total of 209 active members for an increase of 13.

Deb Palmer reported she talked to the clubs CPA concerning tax liability. We need only to be concerned with income receipts.

Deb Palmer suggested the WPA donate $50.00 per meeting to the Church of Christ to help cover utilities.

Keith Blair made a motion to give the Church $50.00 per meeting. The motion was seconded by Janiece Robinson and the motion carried.

After a lengthy discussion on worthy charities to which we could donate, Randy Hutchison made a motion to donate $500.00 to local charities. The Board of Directors to select the recipients. Keith Blair seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Deb Palmer reported she is concerned about the amount of money in the Checking Account. After a discussion, Keith Blair made a motion to open a Savings Account, placing most of the money in it. The Checking account balance to be determined by the Treasurer based on historical needs. Janiece Robinson seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Deb Palmer requested permission to pay Paula Jones for receipts and time accrued while she was filling in for the Membership Coordinator. (the amount is over the $200.00 limit). Jacque Schmidt made a motion to pay Paula. The motion was seconded by Rosemary Blair and the motion carried.

Speakers and classes for the meetings were discussed. Randy Hutchison volunteered to give a class on map reading. Joe Stewart will call the Wy. State USGS Geologist to ask him if he would be interested in coming to one of our Club meetings as a guest speaker.

The WPA Annual Outing was discussed. Les made a motion we schedule the outing for June 22, 23, and 24. Jacque Schmidt seconded the motion, motion carried. Reminder to members we need volenteers.

David Myers won the Door Prize.

Randy Hutchison won the 50-50 raffle

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 3:45PM.

Raffle followed the meeting our congratulations to the winners.

Keith Blair presented a demonstration of the maps on the “Members Only” portion of the Web Site. Keith showed us how to navigate them and do overlays. Keith also said he would see what he could do to lighten them up when they are printed off of the Web.
